Bridal Shower Gifts

Bridal shower gifts are traditionally meant to “shower” the new couple with gifts to help make their house a home. However it can be tricky to consider what gift to give at the bridal shower and what gift to give for the wedding.

Because a bridal shower is generally meant for the bride to be and her closest friends and family to celebrate the momentous occasion, a bridal shower is generally very cozy. Due to the familiarity each person has with the bride it is not uncommon for guests to give the bride personal gifts – one you would give to your friend that you think would help benefit her and her home – as bridal shower gifts.

Themed bridal showers are becoming increasingly popular, and as a result themed bridal shower gifts are increasing in popularity as well. For example, if the bridal shower has a kitchen theme it would be practical to give her dinnerware, cookware, and other kitchen related items.

However, some bridal showers do not have themes, or perhaps you are still not sure of what to get the bride. Many brides have gift registries for their weddings. Although the wedding gift and the bridal shower gift are two separate ones it is not uncommon to give the bride a smaller gift from the registry as a bridal shower gift. There is a positive to this form of gift giving – often during weddings people rush to gift large items from the registry but this way the smaller but still important items will not be overlooked.

At the end of the day however, each gift is a personal choice and you can be as creative as you like when gifting your friend and bride to be a bridal shower gift.
